Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are thankful that we can continue to pursue our photography and videography projects! However, things look a little different now. This is due to the practices and procedures we must institute to keep all those on site safe.

Working With Clients in a Pandemic

Now more than ever, it is important to ensure your online presence is well maintained and up to date. With businesses and individuals shifting to a virtual environment, providing your clients and customers, or audience with up-to-date headshots, service and product images, or information is crucial.

Derek Ford Studios has been busy helping clients shift to a virtual environment. This has included photo and video content for websites, online shops, social media, and other digital or virtual promotions.

This client work has required Derek Ford Studios to capture the implementation of new protocols required by businesses due to COVID-19 that require the wearing of masks, social distancing, and cleaning protocols. These changes have required some businesses to have new images or video content captured of their stores to highlight the new measures being taken to ensure customer and the staff’s safety. For others, it required capturing images of all products the business supplies to shift to a virtual shop. Some companies have had portraits of all their employees updated to support the shift to a virtual environment of Zoom meetings, LinkedIn, and company intranets as a tool for connecting with teams and clients.

These projects have been significantly different than pre pandemic portrait shoots. All projects Derek Ford Studios has worked on up to this date have followed the current COVID-19 protocols. These protocols require all people on set, whether staff or clients, to wear a face covering. In images or video footage in which face coverings are not worn, such as our portrait shoots, a distance of 6 feet minimum is maintained between subject and photographer to ensure safety. This requires us to use different techniques when shooting during these unique times.
